European Adventure X Naples and the Amalfi Coast

We left Mykonos with many wonderful memories and again beautiful weather.

Beautiful sunset as we sailed towards Naples

We passed some beautiful land/water-scapes as we neared Naples.

Entering the harbour we passed a lovely lighthouse and a statue of a bishop with an inscribed blessing on its base.

The next leg of our adventure takes us to Naples where we travelled along the scenic Amalfi Coast to Positano.

Once again, we opted to arrange our own shore excursion with a private car and driver.

It works out to be cheaper than ship-based tours.  It is a real time saver and you don't have to deal with a bus load of folks.

The bonus is you have more time for yourself.  In short, it is personalized service.

We read the reviews on Tripadvisor and found them quite helpful.

After a wonderful breakfast, we met our driver on the pier holding a sign with our name.  Paolo our driver of AP Tours spoke English quite well.  The whole tour was outstanding.

I believe the photo's speak for themselves.

What I see in your photos is a different culture. I like the narrow street scenes and the houses pile up in the steep hillsides.

Beautiful pictures. Thanks for putting us right there in the action and gorgeous scenery.

There is one good reason to book your excursions with the ship---the ship won't leave without you. Twice on cruises we've been late returning and they held the boat. Other passengers who booked their own excursions had to pay for transportation to reach the ship at the next port.

When in the process choosing where in Italy we wanted to vacation, our (Italian) friend said, "I like Napels and around there. I can see now why!
Love the street scenes and the interior of the church.
(we choose Lucca, because I wanted to see the Chagall museum in Nice, S. of France - also very beautiful)

So many beautiful views, it is hard to know where to start making a comment. Those fishy steps in the last photo must be the most creative view. But love the colour of the street scenes - especially the textured wall draped with flowers. And finally, the scenic views of Naples in the first photos are so enchanting.

This is a wonderful collection of photos of such a memorable journey.
I've loved looking at them. They do reveal a way of life that is certainly much different than ours here in Ontario.
