Horsing Around

These big animals have long been replaced by machinery.  Yet there are a handful of people who still treasure these mighty titans.

I strayed outside of Prince Edward County into Hastings County and found this Country Fair happening in the Township of Melrose, Ontario.

These great animals weren't horsing around when it came time to pull the load.  Any guesses as to how many pounds they were pulling on the sled?

For those of you playing along, the answer to the weight on the sled is at the bottom of this post.

Our farming neighbour down the road has Belgian horses and he hooks them up to the plow quite frequently. It is a beautiful site to see.

Amazing. No wonder it's referred to as "horse power."
