Canada's Parliament

On our way back from Mont Tremblant, Quebec.  We popped in to visit my father on his 83rd. birthday in Gatineau, Quebec.  We crossed the river separating the two provinces (Ontario and Quebec) and spent part of the day walking on Sparks Street Mall, a popular pedestrian destination for shopping, eating or relaxing on one of the many benches dotting the whole street. During the summer months, it is not uncommon to see and hear buskers performing.

The photos that follow depict Canada's Parliament and the surrounding area in the National Capital Region.   Visitor information can be found here.

Beautiful city! We are a short ferry ride from Victoria, one of my favorite places. I enjoy seeing another Canadian city that looks as beautiful. And it's rather nice to see Elizabeth II looking a little more "common."

Ottawa is one of our favourite places to visit. One year on a tour of the Parliament buildings we were lucky enough to get to sit in Mr. Speakers chair. The cruise on the river is fantastic.
